ads...

do I really want to advertise things like this:...

I couldn't help listening to a conversation between my husband and his mother... she said that my brother-in-law started out on the internet earning money by advertising health and beauty products... kind of like this:...

at least I think...

I would rather put ads in for myself... for my own website... problem with that is that house renovations have seriously blown the budget thus I am now having to wait a few weeks before I can afford web hosting... so sadly the website sits waiting... I sit waiting... maybe I'm doing it all wrong!!


I am a photographer/artist with no money! Correction - checked my bank account today... $1!! Yay!! That'll get me a lot!

I practically had a melt down last night over this... not getting anywhere with my photography! Sure I have tons of photos... but there are only so many one can take of their own dogs! My dogs have gotten to the point where they think that they are superstars and thus are demanding things like meals three and four times a day... not that I'll ever feed them that often... they may start getting fat!

Basically if I take mycamera outside they sit and wait for me to start shooting!! To be perfectly honest - my dogs don't pay me that well! :)

I know what I want to do... I just cant seem to do it because... well... have you ever had the feeling that the world is just ignoring you??

What I thought would be a good idea (this blog and my other 3) to generate traffic, to get my name known, before my website is up and running seems to have fallen over! Flop!

"put ads on your blog" - generate more traffic!! Yep! Right! Mate - I cant even get the masses to read what I have to say let alone click on ads! Although I must thank my husband for his comments on my blog and one other person! And I'm not sure if that same other person clicked on an ad on my page or if it was someone else! Whoever you are - Thank You! I appreciate your time! Please stop by again if you liked what you saw!!

That brings me to the next question I have to ask... what is with the idea that the writter has to keep their readers in mind? I mean the layout, contextual ads (and the other ads that are supposed to be contextual but don't really look the part)... I am at a loss as to how to incorperate what the "masses" want in a blog that is mostly my sometimes strange thoughts!

I do know this... apparently people have been looking at my blog... the ad reprts tell me this!!

I find it a little difficult to place ads on a page and then expect people to click on them and buy something... afterall - how can I expect others to do that when I myself don't really do that! (clicking on ads on other peoples sites/blogs).

Yes I have read others blogs... cant remember how many now! Have I clicked on any of their ads? nope! why? because firstly I have no money to spend, secondly I have no desire to buy stuff... and thirdly the stuff I do want to buy... well - lets just say I cant afford it right now! If i sit down and actually spend some time thinking then I'm sure I could come up with other things I would like...

I know one thing that would be really good... Merit Fitness 725T Treadmill or something like it... for use in the winter months when  it is too cold and wet to even consider opening the curtains! But then I would have to come up with some way to sit a book or the laptop on it so I can read or play a game or something while walking!! My husband keeps asking me what's wrong with the exercise bike... but after a while my knees start hurting as does my butt! And I prefer walking... The other thing is - why ride a bike indoors and go nowhere when I have a bike that I use (weather permitting) for tripping around to take photos!! (Actually I've been considering selling the exercise bike!)

Anyways... It's time I went to bed! Near on midnight!!
