if the devil had any real power I'd be dead already!

Really...

Why is it that when someone mentions the devil Christians run and hide or say he does not exist? I think I know what I am talking about here... I did have a close encounter of the devilish kind and I lived to tell the tale!! Maybe its got something to do with all those anti-christ movies... 666 is not the number of the beast but the number of man... anyway - we wont go there!

I am not claiming I know everything... I am not saying that the devil has no power at all... the power he has is granted to him by God. Take a look at the book of Job... (Old testiment bible)... the devil is out roaming the face of the earth and then presents himself before God with the rest of the angels... God asks him what he has been doing and he says he's been roaming the earth basically looking for someone to torment! God mentions Job... then as the story goes on God gives the devil the power to inflict harm on Job - but he is to spare Jobs life!

My point here is that although the devil has some power - it's not like it is in the movies where he can get away with anything... nor can man (or woman) alone defeat him. Most of what the devil does is smoke and mirrors! Tricks of the mind! If he can get a Christian into thinking he/she is unworthy of Gods love, grace and forgiveness - then he has won (that particular round at least.)

The bible says that they overcame him (the devil) by the Blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony! Physical human weapons will have little to no effect on the devil - he is a spiritual being! From the Lord comes deliverance - May Your blessings fall!

Why do I feel so strongly about this? Because too many times in church, the devil is just laughed off as a bad joke or as one who is impotent and lacking any form of power what so ever!

People do not realise the spiritual damage that they do to themselves when they read their horoscopes or do irridology or any of those other things that are occultic! The Christian should do everything in their power to stay away from such things... God says that those who practise any of these things will be cursed! So I ask - why after Jesus broke all curses do some willingly choose to put themselves back under the curse? Ignorance is no excuse! Having your palms read is not innocent fun - it is dangerous! Reading your cards (tarrot) is not innocent fun - it is dangerous! Not to mention an abomination and stentch in the sight and smell of God!

I am sometimes shocked by the number of Christians who have seen the harry potter movies or the twilight movies... Do they not understand that these are rooted in the occult and are very dangerous things? They have opened themselves up to giving the devil a foothold in their lives... Why do they do it?

Halloween is another dangerous one! Chuck Missler did a really indepth message on halloween and its history - I recommend getting it... Halloween 2k (Personal) - chuck missler. Halloween is one freaky pagan celebration! I also recommend - Deliver Us From Evil - Cindy Jacobs. A very good book!

Other than that - I strongly recommend praying to God about your life and walk with Him... The bible says that if you confess your sins God is faithful and just and will forgive you your sins... Now go and pray!
