My winter office. It comes fully equipped with missing windows, cold breezes, warm (lovely warm) sun, half dead plants and a child riding her car over my toes!
With computer power cord coming thru the window and a speaker sitting on the window sill giving me much needed sound... such a pity the internet cord doesn’t reach across the room and out the window... really need to go wireless, but the husbands computer, well, he just needs a new one!
I really like the fact that we are making progress with the slate, but does cutting it really need to be so noisy?? At least the breeze is blowing in the right direction so I am not getting the dust!
If I could do this all day every day... planning phot trips on my bike, taking photos of the dogs, and Onjahlika and stuff... wonderful... alas - unless I start actually earning a fairly good income from all my effort I am going to have to start looking for an actual paid job! Apparently according to the government we can not live on one income!! I would have my web site running now, except that I need finances to pay for web hosting... I have my domain name... but I need some money for web hosting!!
Simply doing one photo shoot would cover the cost! I have already done one - but the lady I did it for has dropped off the face of the earth, so I have her photos and she has, well, nothing... So what do I do there? I have been to where she said she lives... no response... more than once... I have left her notes with my contact details... still no response!! Any ideas??
I must admit that since this little learning curve I have decided that I will get the name address and phone number of the one(s) who asked for the photos as well as the name phone number and address of those who the photos are for (if the two are different). But still, I feel like I’ve failed in a way! I have photos for a mother who either does or does not know it! If only I had her contact details not just the grandmothers details! Oh what to do!
Right now I feel like the struggling artist!
I studied horticulture for 5+ years... so why is it that I have so many half-dead plants around me? maybe it is because the particular plants are frost tender and just don’t like getting cold! Maybe the best option is to throw them in the garden for compost and get something else a little less prone to death due to cold weather! Huh - like that is possible... the lack of finances puts a dampener on quite a lot of brilliant ideas! Yet I struggle on!

My mother-in-law lives way north of us and she told us the other day that her days were just starting to cool off at 25 degrees! That is a very warm day for us here whatever time of year! I like our home and where we have chosen to live!
Hmmm... I think it’s time I went inside and shut the curtains in a vein attempt to keep the warmth in!! And maybe consider starting dinner...
Tis getting cold and dark! Always seems to happen that way after sunset!!
