road trip... yay finally out of the house for a day!

"I need a road"... great statement from a three year old! Good thing there was plenty of road ahead of us!

"I need go this way"... Again, good thing we are going that way!

She enjoyed herself! So did the rest of us!

Oreo ran around like a dog high on caffine! He was funny to watch! His story another time!

I took the opportunity to take more photos!

But first - I must say this before I forget! Sitting on the coffee table beside me is a nice vase (converted pasta jar)... in that vase is a very nice bunch of red roses that my loving husband brought for me a few days ago! I sent him out for cheese and he came home with a little more than cheese! In his collection of goodies was a yummy pack of chocy bickies! (Of course none of them are left now.)

I was going to put these up sooner, but then I thought that maybe sorting out my pictures into their storage folders would be a better idea. I have 2500+ sitting, waiting to be sorted out!

Our road trip - we firstly went to the staggy creek fossicking area... it is on the way to Copeton Dam near Inverell! Never been there before and I discovered that people can camp there! So I wanted to check it out!

I rather enjoyed the time spent at the fossicking reserve... Of course Gav couldn't resist! The fossicker in him had to be soothed!! He found some chunks of tormaline (not sure if that is the correct spelling)...

Onjahlika had fun throwing rocks in the puddles! And Oreo just slept after running around like a mad thing!

I saw some wonderful trees... Yes more trees... I like trees!!

Oh and I found another good reason why I don't eat mushrooms!! This here is a few mushrooms growing in cow poop!

Not my prefered meal!

From Staggy Creek Fossicking Reserve we headed off to Copeton Dam! Very beautiful and scarily low at the same time!!

I could not believe how empty the dam was! This photo shows the outlet/overflow area... no water - only tire tracks in the mud and grass!

I've seen some large dams - but never that empty! Oh how the Inverell area needs rain and lots of it! The whole area is dry and brown! A fire waiting to happen! Not fun considering all the eucalypt trees in the area! And the obvious lack of water!

The dam isn't completely empty! Just very close! Or at least that is my obveservation!
This dam is supposed to supply water to the surrounding area! I wonder just exactly how much time there is before it is completely dry!

On a completely different note... just check my emails... message from panoramio... I got a comment of my sunset... to view images http://www.panoramio.com/user/4452197.
